Course Overview
Total Hours: 32 hours
Format: In-person training with classroom sessions and supervised range time at a local shooting facility
Certification: Upon successful completion of all course hours, passing all CLEET-mandated range qualifications and
passing the CLEET Phase IV state exam, you receive certification to apply for your Oklahoma
Armed Security Guard/ Armed Private Investigator license license (valid for 2 years)
Who It's For: Individuals 21 years or older who have completed Phase I & II Unarmed Security or Phase III Private
Investigators and who want to carry a firearm on duty. Ideal for those who are seeking higher-paying
armed positions in security, executive protection, events, and private investigations.

What You'll Learn

Oklahoma laws on firearms possession, transport, and use of deadly force

Handcuffing basics and arrest techniques (as applicable to armed roles)
At-Range

Live-fire qualification to meet official CLEET armed security standards (typically with 9mm, .38, or .45 caliber handguns)

You will shoot the official CLEET course of fire and must pass all stages for certification.
Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old

U.S. citizen or legal resident (Oklahoma residency often required for licensing)

Pass a background check (as required by CLEET for licensing)

No felony convictions that disqualify you under Oklahoma law

High school diploma or GED (recommended)

Successfully completed CLEET Phase I & II (for Armed Security Guard) or Phase III (for Armed Private Investigator)

Pass the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) psychological evaluation (required for armed upgrade - we can guide you on this) BEFORE course begin

Bring your own: handgun (9mm, .38, or .45 recommended), holster, duty belt, 3+ magazines/pouches, 400–450 rounds of quality ammunition, eye/ear protection, comfortable clothing, and sturdy footwear
