What is CLEET Phase I & II?

Phase I & II is the 40-hour course required for the Unarmed Security Guard license in Oklahoma. It covers Oklahoma law, powers of arrest, use of force, report writing, patrol techniques, and professional conduct.

What is CLEET Phase III?

Phase III is the 35-hour course required for the Private Investigator license. It focuses on investigation techniques, surveillance, report writing, ethics, and legal authority for armed PIs.

What is CLEET Phase IV?

Phase IV is the 32-hour Firearms Qualification course (classroom + live-fire range) required to upgrade to an Armed Security Guard or fully armed Private Investigator license. Students must be 21+ and supply their own handgun and ammunition.

What is the difference between armed and unarmed security in Oklahoma?

Unarmed security requires Phases I & II (age 18+). Armed security requires Phases I, II, and IV (age 21+) plus a psychological evaluation (MMPI). Armed guards can carry a firearm while on duty.

How long does it take to get CLEET certified?

Most students complete Phases I & II in 1–2 weeks. Adding Phase IV for armed status usually adds another week. We offer flexible scheduling to fit your needs.

What are the age requirements for CLEET licenses?

  • Unarmed Security Guard: 18 years or older

  • Armed Security Guard or Armed Private Investigator: 21 years or older

Do I need to bring my own gun and ammo for Phase IV?

Yes. Students must supply a functional handgun (9mm, .38, or .45 recommended), holster, duty belt, 3+ magazines, and approximately 400 - 450 rounds of quality ammunition.

Is a background check required?

Yes. All applicants must pass a CLEET background check. Certain felony convictions will disqualify you from licensing.

Do I need a psychological evaluation?

Yes — the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) is required for anyone applying for an armed license.

Do I need to pay in cash for the courses?

Payment for courses can be made online or in cash. Please note that an additional range fee may apply, typically around $20, and must be paid in cash.

What is your refund policy?

Please note that all course bookings are non-refundable, but we do allow rescheduling for a future class date.
