Communication & De-escalation: contact/cover roles, verbal commands, pre-assault indicators, managing bystanders and third-party interference. Positioning & Footwork: stance, angles, distance management, clinch entries, disengagement, and safe approach to control. Control Holds & Takedowns: escort holds, wrist/elbow shoulder controls, leverage-based takedowns with focus on balance disruption and injury mitigation. Ground Control & Handcuffing: transitions to prone/kneeling, cuffing from standing/prone, team cuffing, double-locking, fit checks, and post-cuff monitoring. Searching & Transport Prep: systematic standing/kneeling/prone searches, managing pockets/waistbands, vehicle approach considerations, and safe movement to transport. Weapon-Retention & Disarms (Intro): holster retention against grabs, long-gun retention principles (if applicable), and immediate-action escapes. Edged/Impact Threats (Intro): framing, shielding, and disengagement options; integrating OC/TASER where authorized. Medical & Safety Considerations: mitigating positional/asphyxia risk, monitoring after OC/TASER, recognizing acute behavioral crisis, and summoning EMS. Documentation: report writing, evidence preservation, and phrasing to clearly articulate necessity and reasonableness.
